“Music can make meaningless things seem so significant and I don’t use other ways to say the things I mean. I know it may not matter that I think you’re magnificent but I hope this music makes it seem to you as though it does.” -Ian Cooke

I am not even going to begin to explain how music affects me, because I probably can’t. Although, I will acknowledge that it is a gift and I am grateful for how Father allows me to experience it and take it in.

Here are some of the artists and songs I’ve been precious on while I am writing:

Comtine D’un Autre Ete: L’apres Midi (Amelie Soundtrack)
First Breath After Coma (Explosions in the Sky)
Gobbledigook (Sigur Ros)
Suite for Solo Cello No. 1 in G Major (Bach)
The Swell Season (Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova)

Music that has such a nostalgic grip on me:

Sister Winter (Sujan Stevens)
This Place is a Prison (the Postal Service)
Quiet (Rachel Yamagata)
Brothers on a Hotel Bed (Deathcab for Cutie)
I’ll Be Yr Bird (M. Ward)
Blood (The Middle East)
Song for You (Alexi Murdoch)
Lua (Bright Eyes)
For Emma (Bon Iver)

My 2009 thus far depicted in melody:

Jenny Lynn (Katie Herzig)
There is Still Time (Dan Craig)
My Love Goes Free (Jon Foreman)
Epistemology (M. Ward)
The Great Escape (Patrick Watson)
Little Bird (Angus and Julia Stone)
Secret of the Easy Yoke (Pedro the Lion)
Pony Rides (Candy Claws)
Just You and Me (Zee Avi)
White Winter Hymnal (Fleet Foxes)
Run the Wire (Brown Bird)
Blindsided (Bon Iver)
San Fransisco (Gregory Alan Isakov)
every thought a Thought of You (mewithoutYou)

Of course there is much more…probably many artists I am leaving out but here is what I recall at this time. Thank you for your grace.
